Kiel, Deutschland - Kiel is going and a lot is going on in the sailing world! From August 6th to 10th, 2025, the city will act as the starting harbor for The Ocean Race Europe for the first time. An exciting event that not only inspires professional sailors, but also attracts local fans and visitors. For everyone who wants to experience the events up close: On August 9, 2025, there will be a live podcast recording in the clubhouse of the Segel Club Baltic. But Kiel has more ambitions. The city is applying for the expiry of the Olympic sailing competitions 2040. The sailing center in the Schilksee district is to become the central venue. Kiel has already organized Olympic sailing twice, 1972 and 1988, and now wants to move back to the Olympic light.
