SV Todesfelde loses test match, but coach praises playing experience!
Last Saturday, SV Todesfelde completed its first “taster course” in preparation for the new season. The players played against TuS Dassendorf in the first test match, and even though the result was 1:2 in Großensee, coach Dirk Hellmann can take positive aspects from the game. Despite the narrow defeat, he emphasized that the team showed an “aggressive attacking press” that was quite effective in the early stages. Today is July 6, 2025 and the team has only had a few training sessions behind them, which gives the coach hope for exciting potential.
TuS Dassendorf is well-known in the Hamburg Oberliga and has secured the championship title seven times since 2014, but currently has no ambitions of promotion to the fourth division. In the 20th minute, Johann von Knebel made it 1-0 for the hosts after a successful counterattack surprised SV Todesfelde. In the 36th minute, the fire was further fueled by Martin Harnik with the second goal for Dassendorf after a bad pass from Okan Özütemiz had aggravated the situation. Hellmann was optimistic despite the opponents' lead and praised the fitness and commitment of his troops.
Insights into the team and upcoming challenges
In the second half, several test players like Arne Böttcher were used. Hellmann noted that the many changes led to a break in the game, but the defense remained stable. Marc-André Schneider scored the goal to make it 1-2 in the 83rd minute with a header from a corner, which gave the team new life. The coming challenge awaits on July 12th with the first competitive game in the state cup against MTSV Hohenwestedt, in which the team wants to show what they have learned in these first few weeks.
Among the players, Sean Hopp and Mats Klüver have to train carefully due to injuries, while Pawel Erfmann is completely absent due to knee problems. Defense chief Christian Rave, who started training late, remains an important pillar in the team and is on the list of potential game participants. The SV Todesfelde players, most of whom come from the region around Segeberg, show a strong identification with their club and impress with their passion and team solidarity.
The regional football scene
SV Todesfelde has established itself in the country's top division and can look back on an impressive record. The 2019/2020 season in particular is celebrated as the most successful in the club's history, as the team was crowned national champions and was therefore able to qualify for the DFB Cup. The development into a powerful team that competes in the Regionalliga Nord in the current season is the result of continuous and hard work.
The German Football Association (DFB) organizes a complex system of leagues in Germany with a total of 21 regional associations that include over 24,000 clubs. SV Todesfelde is proud to be part of this lively football community, which includes not only professionals but also many amateur teams and thus promotes regional football.
