Emotional sounds in the chamber music hall: free concert in Lübeck!
Today, December 7, 2025, the music college in Lübeck will become a stage for particularly talented students. A concert will take place in the institution's chamber music hall in which Prof. Elisabeth Weber's class will demonstrate their skills. Guided by a passion for music and a strong sense of creativity, the young musicians present a program that includes both emotional and expressive works. Admission is free, which offers the opportunity to be inspired and touched.
The Lübeck University of Music(https://luebeck-verliebt.de/kalender/musik-fuer-violine-in-der-musikhochschule-4/2025-12-08/) is the only state music university in Schleswig-Holstein and is home to around 450 students from all over the world. Not only is musical diversity important, but the university also strives to promote creativity. The chamber music hall is known for its clear sound and the closeness of the audience to the performances, which makes attending the concert a special experience.
Brahms Institute and its treasures
Particularly worth mentioning is the parallel event taking place at Villa Brahms, which is also located in Lübeck. As part of an exhibition by the Brahms Institute, the life and work of Johannes Brahms will be examined. This exhibition is entitled “Johannes Brahms – Signs, Images, Fantasies” and shows a collection of treasures, including Brahms’ address book, personal letters and original music manuscripts.
Visitors have the opportunity to learn more about Brahms at four listening stations and even hear and read parts of “A German Requiem” in the composer’s handwriting. The exhibition, which is organized by the Brahms Institute affiliated with the University of Music, appeals to music lovers and interested parties alike - and admission is also free.
A place of musical inspiration
The Brahms Institute, founded in 1991, is an international competence and documentation center dedicated to the research and exchange of music research and artistic practice. It was launched with the acquisition of the world's largest private Brahms collection and is located in a beautiful classicist country house on the Jerusalemsberg in Lübeck. In addition to the presentation of exhibitions, concerts, symposiums and themed evenings also take place here.
With today's music events and the very special exhibition about Brahms, Lübeck not only has musical flair to offer, but also cultural enrichment that will make the heart of every music lover beat faster. Be part of these unique experiences - there are only a few hours left until the concert in the Chamber Music Hall and the journey to Villa Brahms is also worth it!
