Fire in Lübeck-TRAVEMÜNDE: Cat rescued, residents safe!

A somewhat hectic afternoon for the emergency services in Lübeck-Travemünde: On Friday, October 31, 2025, at around 1:50 p.m., passers-by became aware of a noticeable smoke development on the third floor of an apartment in the front row and immediately alerted the fire department. HL-Live reports that….

Station 3 of the professional fire brigade and the Travemünde volunteer fire brigade were soon on site. By acting quickly, firefighters were able to quickly bring the small fire under control before major damage was caused. A stroke of luck, because while the emergency services were still at work, they were already preparing to rescue the residents using a turntable ladder. Fortunately, this was not necessary as the situation was quickly defused.

Saving a cat

The operation went quickly: the firefighters broke down the apartment door and discovered the fire. A cat was also found in the apartment, which was brought outside after a short rescue operation. The total duration of the operation was estimated to be around 30 minutes. Even if the scenario was serious, it can be said that thanks to the rapid response of the fire department, the situation ended safely for everyone involved.

Such operations show once again how important it is for the fire brigade and rescue services to act quickly. A small fire can quickly develop into a widespread fire, which is why the preparation and training of emergency responders is of the utmost importance. The incident not only alarmed residents, but also shone a light on the fire department's duties, which often remain invisible until an emergency occurs.
