What about the food? Here too it remains the same. As in the previous year, bratwursts cost 4.50 euros and 100 grams of roasted almonds are also available for four euros. The market operators have a good hand in trying not to spoil the festive mood with exorbitant prices. “We want everyone to be able to afford a piece of the Christmas market,” continued Lauenburger.
A look across the borders to Munich
While Lübeck shines with attractive prices, Munich has a variety of Christmas markets and a very special flair. The famous Christmas market on Marienplatz also opens on November 24th and attracts visitors with a historical ambience and one of the largest nativity scenes in Germany. In addition to mulled wine and numerous delicacies, there will also be creative workshops for children and traditional music from Bavaria.
In Munich the offering is even more extensive: from the Viktualienmarkt, which is open from November 21, 2025 to January 5, 2026, to the Christmas market at the Residenz with craft stalls and puppet shows.
