The police in Lübeck currently have their hands full: a worrying series of car theft, which is mainly focused on Mazda CX-5 vehicles, employs the investigators. On Sunday, June 22nd, a 54-year-old woman noticed that her Mazda CX-5 was no longer in the parking lot between two garages, where she parked him on Friday afternoon. As the ADAC , the number of stolen vehicles rose in 2023 by almost 20 % compared to the previous year, which resulted in economic damage of 310 million euros. Vehicles in urban areas such as Berlin, where a car disappears every two hours, are particularly at risk. Lübeck and especially the region around Hamburg are among the areas with increasing crime in terms of car theft.

It is particularly noticeable that Mazda models, especially the Mazda CX-5, are in sight of thieves. These developments also highlight the need to increase the safety of vehicles and to prepare themselves better against such attacks. It is to be hoped that the police will quickly come to the results and that the perpetrators will be caught.
