Buntekuh district festival: weekend full of fun and creative stands!
What's happening in Buntekuh? On Saturday, July 12, 2025, the district will celebrate its annual festival around the Bugenhagen Church. The festival starts at 1:00 p.m. and will be a real highlight with a colorful street flea market on Karavellenstrasse. Sellers can now register with Anne M. Müller on 0151 6347 3301 - also via WhatsApp! The “first come, first served” principle applies here, so you have to be quick.
The children also have a special treat: up to the age of 14, they can spread out their own picnic blankets in a separate area and sell them, with the full proceeds remaining for them. Registrations for around 30 stalls and 8 children's picnic blankets are welcome. Setup is possible from 11:00 a.m. so that everything is ready for visitors in time. Parking is available in the Balticschule parking lot.
Together for a good cause
The district festival not only brings the residents together, but also serves a good cause: the proceeds from the planned cake buffet will go towards supporting the International Federation of Youth Meetings in Hudekamp. A 3 meter stand not only provides the opportunity to make a cake donation, but also supports purchases such as mats, a punching bag and a climbing wall for local young people.
But that's not all! In addition to the flea market, visitors can expect exciting attractions such as a bouncy castle, raffle, games and all sorts of delicious things to eat and drink. There will be plenty of space for shared conversations and happy chatting!
Diversity in district life
The residents' association Buntekuh e.V., which was founded in 1789, regularly organizes events to promote community life. There are also some exciting events on the program in the coming months. There will be a bring-along brunch at KGV Buntekuh on June 28th. Registration is required from July onwards for the colorful afternoon with bingo on September 13th. The herring dinner will take place on October 17th and a lantern parade on October 30th will also bring great joy.
In addition, the city has launched new funding for district festivals to support the diverse cultural programs. This funding includes a significant 250,000 euros for 2024 and 2025 to cover costs for technology, artist fees and accessibility measures. This shows how important participation and cohesion in the districts are. The parliamentary group leader Petra Rühle was pleased that many festivals now receive solid financial support.
Come along, join us and let's celebrate together! The district festival in Buntekuh promises fun, community and is an ideal opportunity to make new acquaintances and maintain old friendships.
