AOK School Cup inspires: Neumünster celebrates exciting football battles!

On September 15, 2025, Neumünster experienced a real football festival at the AOK School Cup, where a total of 14 teams played exciting matches. The participating teams were divided into two age groups: age group I (born 2015-2013) and age group II (born 2012-2010). The games in age group II were particularly exciting, with thrilling duels that captivated the spectators.

What was particularly remarkable was that four teams qualified for the final round of age group II. After exciting group phases, the Bramfeld community school secured the coveted final places with 7 points and the Probstei community school with 6 points. In age group I, the Probstei community school dominated with 5 wins from 5 games and 15 points. The Johannes Brahms School Pinneberg I followed in second place.

Placements and finals

The Johannes Brahms schools were also responsible for third places in the respective age groups. Johannes Brahms School Pinneberg II took third place in age group I, while Johannes Brahms School Pinneberg I achieved a disappointing third place in age group II. Of all the third-place finishers from the regional tournaments, the best third-place finisher advances to the final, which creates additional excitement. The next regional tournament will take place in Husum on September 17, 2025.

Another highlight of the last few seasons was the team from the Immanuel Kant School, which was able to compete in the state finals of the AOK School Cup 2023 and took third place. In a challenging group, the IKS under coach Nils Hüttel was able to show some exciting matches, including a 3-0 win against the Nordseegymnasium Sankt-Peter-Ording, which impressively demonstrated the performance of the students. At the award ceremony, the team received a medal, a trophy and a voucher for 100 euros, which further fueled their ambition for future tournaments.

Nationwide perspectives

The AOK School Cup is in the context of the DFB School Cup, which is held as part of the national competition “YOUTH TRAINED FOR OLYMPICS”. The best teams have the chance to advance to the national finals at the Bad Blankenburg sports school. Schools interested in this competition can find out more about the relevant ministries and should take the opportunity to become part of this exciting format.

The focus remains on enthusiasm for football and promoting talent in schools. The AOK School Cup and the support from the DFB will help ensure that the youngsters continue to shine on the pitches in the future and show a good hand for the next generation of football professionals.
