Hamburg Cruise Days 2025: A spectacle full of ship highlights!

In less than two weeks the time has come: The Hamburg Cruise Days invite you to a maritime festival in the port of Hamburg from September 12th to 14th, 2025. This is the tenth edition of this popular event, which delights both sailors and landlubbers with a colorful program.

With seven ocean-going cruise ships and one river cruise ship, the maritime atmosphere at the harbor really comes to life. In addition to a supporting program on land, there are fascinating light displays every day from dusk onwards Blue Port for a special atmosphere. A highlight will be the appearance of the MS Vasco da Gama, which is expected on the Elbe on Friday evening. Saturday promises to be a very special experience with a grand parade showcasing five ships before two of the cruise ships set sail together on Sunday.

New cruise terminal

The ceremonial opening of the new Cruise Center HafenCity on September 12th, at which the MS Europa from Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will be a guest, will also be a significant event. This modern cruise terminal, conveniently located next to the Westfield shopping center, not only offers two berths for cruise ships, but also excellent public transport connections and proximity to Hamburg landmarks and shopping opportunities.

The Hamburg port city has established itself as a leading German cruise port. In 2023, Hamburg counted a whopping 1,204,089 cruise passengers, a significant increase compared to 2022, where there were 785,000 passengers. Dr. Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economy and Innovation, emphasizes the great economic importance of the cruise industry for the city, which generates 420 million euros in gross added value annually and creates 4,490 full-time jobs.
