Holstein Kiel chooses a new supervisory board: fresh wind for the club!

On Saturday, June 13, 2025, KSV Holstein Kiel elected a new supervisory board at an extraordinary membership collection. This essential choice took place because five members of the previous supervisory board wanted to resign their offices for personal reasons. A total of nine new members were elected in a rapidly carried out, unanimous procedure, without a vote against. The choice was a complete success: 661 members gave their vote and the result is impressive.

The Supervisory Board thus increased from six to nine people. Hermann Langness stood for election again and will take over the management of the association together with eight new faces. The elected members are Andreas Breitner, Tim Jeschkeit, Niko Müller, Svenja Nefen, Thorsten Neumann, Constantin Niemann, Thilo Rohlfs and Torge Steen. This new occupation is to be understood as a signal of renewal and a fresh wind in the club management, which President Steffen Schneekloth also emphasized in his speech when he praised the previous work of the Supervisory Board. The new supervisory board will officially start work on July 1, 2025.

preparation and course position

Before the elections it was clear that the KSV Holstein Kiel is aiming for a comprehensive change of personnel at the management level. The term of office of the previous supervisory board ends on June 30, 2025, and the majority of the current members did not start again. The election committee has intensively searched for suitable candidates over the past few months to ensure that the team is prepared for future challenges. Dr. Stefan Tholund, the chairman of the reigning supervisory board, expressed optimistic about the process and the trust that the election committee enjoyed in order to present the best possible candidates.

The structure of football clubs, as can also be found at KSV Holstein Kiel, is usually well organized. Sportlexikon makes it clear that there is not only a board but also a supervisory board that controls the work of the board. A clear separation between the tasks of the sports director, manager and the various leaders is particularly essential in strategic planning in order to efficiently achieve the goals of the association.

A look into the future

With the new supervisory board, Holstein Kiel sees itself well positioned to tackle the upcoming challenges and to develop sporty and strategically. The combination of experienced and new faces promises to bring in some fresh ideas and perspectives that can be of great advantage for the club. In this exciting phase, every attentive fan is ready to follow and support the developments of the association.

The course are set - now it is important to pursue the course taken and to make the Kielers visibly again in the second Bundesliga. The coming months will be decisive to achieve the goals set in the general meeting and to lead Holstein Kiel to new heights. The members can be excited to see which impulses will set the new members of the supervisory board!
