Holstein Kiel elects new supervisory board: A breath of fresh air for the club!

On Saturday, June 13, 2025, the KSV Holstein Kiel elected a new supervisory board at an extraordinary general meeting. This essential election took place because five members of the previous supervisory board wanted to resign from their positions for personal reasons. In a quick, unanimous procedure, without a dissenting vote, a total of nine new members were elected. The election was a complete success: 661 members cast their votes, and the result was impressive.

The supervisory board thus increased from six to nine people. Hermann Langness stood for re-election and will take over the management of the club together with eight new faces. The elected members are Andreas Breitner, Tim Jeschkeit, Niko Müller, Svenja Nefen, Thorsten Neumann, Constantin Niemann, Thilo Rohlfs and Torge Steen. This new appointment should be seen as a signal of renewal and a breath of fresh air in the club's management, which President Steffen Schneekloth also emphasized in his speech when he praised the work of the supervisory board to date. The new supervisory board will officially start work on July 1, 2025.

Preparation and setting the course

Even before the elections, it was clear that KSV Holstein Kiel was aiming for a comprehensive change in personnel at management level. The term of office of the previous Supervisory Board ends on June 30, 2025, and the majority of the current members did not stand again. The election committee has searched intensively for suitable candidates over the last few months to ensure that the team is prepared for future challenges. Dr. Stefan Tholund, the chairman of the incumbent supervisory board, expressed optimism about the process and the trust that the election committee enjoyed in presenting the best possible candidates.

The structure of football clubs, such as that found at KSV Holstein Kiel, is generally well organized. Sports lexicon makes it clear that there is not only a board of directors, but also a supervisory board that controls the work of the board. Particularly in strategic planning, a clear separation between the tasks of the sports director, manager and the various management personnel is essential in order to achieve the club's goals efficiently.

A look into the future

With the new supervisory board, Holstein Kiel sees itself well positioned to tackle the coming challenges and to develop further in terms of sport and strategy. The combination of experienced and new faces promises to bring in some fresh ideas and perspectives that can be of great benefit to the club. In this exciting phase, every attentive fan is ready to follow and support the club's developments.

The course has been set - now it is important to continue on the chosen course in a targeted manner and bring the Kiel team visibly forward again in the second Bundesliga. The coming months will be crucial in achieving the goals set at the general meeting and taking Holstein Kiel to new heights. The members can look forward to seeing what impulses the new supervisory board members will provide!
