First Dramateurs” festival on Usedom: theater magic for everyone!
A new theater adventure is imminent: the amateur theater festival “Dramateure” is taking place for the first time on the picturesque island of Usedom. Actors from Germany and Poland will meet under the colorful Chapeau Rouge tent in Heringsdorf from July 3rd to 6th to liven up the stage and enchant the audience. The Vorpommersche Landesbühne has launched this exciting event and highlights the art and cultural dialogue between the two countries. Loud Northern Courier The aim of the festival is to connect actors and spectators of all age groups - from 6 to 86 years old.
The opening piece “Krach im Haus Gott”, presented by the Barther amateur ensemble, sets the first tone and will be performed on July 3rd at 6 p.m. The following day, the “Grandtrick Revue” by “Die Wachsamen” awaits visitors at 10:15 a.m. and at 6 p.m. the play by the theater group “U100” follows with the motto “Life is cheerful – but that doesn’t always work!”. Things get international on July 5th when the Ten! Theater from Warsaw performs “Sztuka o czyms”. The crowning finale will be the Lubmin Generations Theater on July 6th at 10:15 a.m. with the chamber music production “Abduction into Fairy Tale Land”.
Spontaneous performances and other events
There will be a special highlight from July 4th: The “Open Stage” invites artists to develop freely and without any admission costs! This not only promotes creativity, but also strengthens the sense of community among participants and visitors. In addition to the festival performances, the Vorpommersche Landesbühne is also planning other events. On July 10th and August 7th, guests can expect a concert by the women's choir Logos from Świnoujście, accompanied by pianist Olga Shkrygunova. And in the summer there will also be exciting dance theater and pop music, which the EGO VU ensemble will present on July 30th and August 21st.
The entire cultural program is part of the international theater network viaTeatri, which was founded in 2017 and is dedicated to connecting people across national borders. Another major aspect of this initiative is the upcoming German-Polish Cultural Days in October 2024, which will also feature an exciting program. The offering ranges from theater performances and ballet to intercultural encounters and is supported by the support of the European Union.
The Vorpommersche Landesbühne is not only an important part of the festival, but also a central player in promoting exchange between German and Polish cultures. Despite the challenges that come with organizing such events, it turns out that shared cultural experiences go far beyond language barriers.
