Cybergrooming in the district: Police warn of quick access for perpetrators!

In the Vorpommern-Rügen district, current events have caused a stir in the last few hours. The police are increasingly investigating the emerging phenomenon of cybergrooming, where perpetrators specifically target children and young people on social networks. According to Polizeiberatung, the number of recorded cases rose to a total of 3,457 in 2024, compared to 2,580 in 2023. This worrying development shows how important education and prevention are.

What is particularly disturbing is that young people are often encouraged to send intimate videos or images, which is considered a serious problem. In this context, the police authorities are focusing on preventive measures and have launched a series of lessons to sensitize children on how to deal with such dangers, known as “Flizzy in Danger”.

Crime in focus

Another bizarre incident occurred when a 22-year-old man tried to escape a 100-kilometer police chase on Sunday. He was caught without a license and is now facing investigations into illegal motor vehicle racing and endangering traffic. A risk you really shouldn't take.
