Krugsdorf golf seniors secure a place in the first league!

The 2025 golf season ends surprisingly well for the seniors of the Golf & Country Club Schloss (GCCS) Krugsdorf: the team remains in the first league of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Captain Ralf Manteufel can look back on a strong performance and reports a reassuring lead in the home game in July, which was crucial for staying in the league. On the last day of the league match, the Krugsdorfers no longer had to worry because they had already achieved a solid score.

But how did the season go? The Krugsdorf golfers finished the championship in a solid third place behind the teams from Fleesensee and Warnemünde. Especially in the last game in Groß Nemerow, where the Vorpommernians wanted to secure second place, the day's form proved to be an obstacle: only two players were able to convince. Overall, the season was rated positively, even if participation in the state team championships did not go according to plan, especially in view of the absences due to injuries.

Title defense and upcoming challenges

However, pleasing successes were recorded within the in-house club championship: Simone Schilling and Michael Schütte successfully defended their titles. Petra Meißner and Bernd Schulz prevailed in the over 65 age group - a great success for the team! The next highlight is planned for the coming weeks: the state individual championships, which will take place in Warnemünde at the end of September. Here Michael Schütte is sent into the race as a title candidate for the Krugsdorfers, while the whole team is looking forward to the tournament.

In line with the current golf season, several events have also been scheduled throughout Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: For example, the MV Golf Association is hosting the first match day of the 1st senior league on the course in Fleesensee on May 12, 2024. These activities offer golfers from the region the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other and measure their skills. Golf enthusiasts can be excited to see what the upcoming tournaments will bring, especially with regard to the youth leagues and the women's league, which are also in the starting blocks.

In summary, it can be said that the seniors of the GCCS Krugsdorf not only stay in the league, but can also start the next tournament year with fresh courage and new challenges - in terms of golf, this is the beginning of an exciting time!
