Citizen participation: Your ideas for the IGA Park on November 22nd!

Rostock is preparing for the second public participation in the IGA Park! On November 22, 2025, all citizens are invited to contribute their ideas and suggestions for the development of the popular recreation and event location. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the traditional ship MS DRESDEN in the IGA Park and has the motto “Participate and have your say”. Admission is free and registration is not required, so everyone has the chance to actively contribute to the design of these important areas, as the Rostock Town Hall reports.

The aim of this participatory event is to actively involve citizens in the planning process and to discuss the future of the IGA Park. The focus here is on the current status of the development concept “Overall urban district development in the north-west of Rostock”, which is scheduled to be completed by 2026. The discussions are all about the sustainable, integrated development of the park and the adjacent waterfront. The most important topics are relaxation and strengthening the park as an adventure space - so there is really something to be achieved!

The city has set up a coordination office for citizen participation (KfB) and an advisory board to actively involve residents in decision-making processes.
