The police in Verden are currently looking for 59-year-old Abdullah Awad, who has been missing since Monday afternoon. The man had discharged himself from the Bremen-Ost hospital, where he was last seen at around 6 a.m. that same morning. Since then, investigators have been left in limbo - his whereabouts are unknown, and it is unclear whether he is still in Bremen or already on the way to his home address in Langwedel. Police search efforts have so far been unsuccessful, increasing concerns for his safety.
Abdullah Awad is about 170 cm tall and has a thin build. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a dark red jacket, dark blue sweatpants and black shoes. Due to his health condition, he requires urgent medication and may become disoriented. What is particularly alarming is that he speaks little German and can become verbally aggressive in certain situations, which could disrupt communication.
