The Christmas market in Delmenhorst officially opened on November 25th, 2025 and invites you to enjoy the festive atmosphere on the town hall square until December 29th. Over 35 days, the surroundings and the hearts of visitors are transformed into a winter fairy tale.

With a total of 21 stalls, the market offers a tempting selection of food and drinks. The highlight of the series of events are the long Thursdays, where DJ Kalle will provide musical entertainment on November 27th, December 4th, 11th and 18th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Finally, visitors can look forward to a shopping Sunday on December 28th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by the popular “After Christmas Party”.

Security concept based on the Magdeburg model

In view of the recent events, the security concept at the Christmas market in Delmenhorst is being strengthened. After the tragic attack in Magdeburg last year, which also brought security at Christmas markets into the spotlight, appropriate measures are being taken reports MDR. The innovations include IBC containers as access barriers and a security team present during market hours. These safety considerations are the duty of every organizer and offer visitors the certainty of enjoying the pre-Christmas fun in a safe environment.

The German Showmen's Association estimates that there are over 3,250 larger Christmas markets in Germany, which together attract around 170 million visitors reports ZDF. Christmas is deeply rooted in Germany's tradition, and the Christmas markets are an important part of it. Therefore, security precautions have been increased this year to ensure the protection of visitors. For example, more security personnel and increased police checks were introduced.

So when you stroll through Delmenhorst and take in the festive atmosphere of the Christmas market, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the delicacies - knowing that safety is our top priority.
