Diana Brückner: At the age of 60 on 520 km for a good cause!

A special campaign that combines humanity and commitment recently caused a stir in northern Germany. Diana Brückner, a 60-year-old woman from Königslutter, ventured on an impressive bike ride of 520 kilometers to collect donations for the ASB-Wünschewagen Niedersachsen. Their journey took them from Königslutter to Gütersloh and back, all without having much experience with long bike tours. Diana had prepared thoroughly in advance by checking navigation devices and repairing her e-bike. She was guided by a strong desire: to remember and support, especially after the loss of her sister at just 67 years old.

It is clear that such a tour brings with it challenges. Diana had to deal with occasional pain along the route, which stopped at attractive bakeries and inns. But it was the encounters with other people that helped her to focus on what was most important: sharing the message of the wish wagon. “When I buy a coffee, I immediately donate the amount to the Wish Car,” she explains, without directly asking anyone else for money. Instead, she accompanied ASB flyers and the cute plush toy “Wünschi” while she talked to many passers-by about the positive goals of the wish car.

Fundraising campaign achieves unexpected success

After a dedicated trip, Diana can proudly announce that she has collected a total of 1,441.39 euros. “It far exceeded my expectations,” she says happily, emphasizing how much the tour taught her about her own strengths and how to deal with difficult situations. The ASB-Wünschewagen Niedersachsen was pleased with the generous fundraising campaign. Diana's commitment could not have been just a one-off act; She plans to launch similar campaigns in the future to reach even more people.

The Lower Saxony Wish Car: A helpful project

But what exactly is the wish car? The Lower Saxony Wish Car fulfills the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill people who do not live long and whose last wishes are often travel or special experiences. This costs an average of around 700 euros per trip, which consists of fuel costs, food and accommodation in barrier-free hotels. These expenses can be covered with the support of donors like Diana. Thanks to numerous donations, including Christmas presents from LSW Holding GmbH & Co, the work of the Wish Cart is made possible. The LSW supports social projects, including the Wish Car, and shows how important sensitivity and humane actions are.

Dr. Frank Kästner, Managing Director of LSW. The help provided is certainly a sign of solidarity and human togetherness. Thanks to the commitment of donors, not only wishes can be fulfilled, but also unforgettable experiences can be created.

A small plush toy and a big idea - that's the Wish Car. And perhaps Diana's tour will inspire other people to also strive for the good things in life. News38 reports on the impressive action and commitment behind the idea, which combines the truth about life and the beauty of volunteer support. You can also support the Wish Car, for example with a donation ASB Lower Saxony or directly at Wish car. Every euro counts!
