On the opening day at 12 p.m., Mayor Tim Kruithoff and university president Professor Dr. Marcus Rimkus will give greetings. The doors of the “Café Nebenan” are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturdays, an additional supervisor will be available for the children's activities. The café team consists of three employees and Cicek himself. The focus is on a child-friendly atmosphere, where the furniture is not only lovingly selected but also sustainable. With fair trade coffee and regional products, Cicek also wants to take into account the ever-increasing trend towards conscious nutrition.
The offer is particularly worth mentioning: instead of meat dishes, there are many tasty milk alternatives on the menu, which are also affordable for students. The mobile offerings for children include Tonie boxes, Tiptoi stories and storybooks.
