Traffic chaos in Neuekrug: one-way street until the end of November!

The traffic situation in Neuekrug is currently causing excitement. The one-way street regulation has recently come into force in the small town in northern Germany and will remain in effect until November 28th. This is reported by the Goslar newspaper. However, there is good news for drivers traveling from Seesen towards the federal highway 82 to Goslar: you can drive through Neuekrug. Road users in the opposite direction, however, have to prepare for a diversion via Rhüden and Bornhausen. These measures are necessary because the cycle path in Neuekrug is currently being paved.

The cycle path work is part of the comprehensive renovation, which also includes shoulder work and remaining services such as paving work. Particularly important: Connections will be made to the adjacent properties so that residents can still be easily reached. As the Goslar newspaper reported, the traffic safety system will be dismantled after the work is completed in order to free up traffic on federal highway 248 for both directions.

Renovation costs and schedule

The entire measure cost around one million euros, which is financed by the federal government. During the autumn holidays, the roadway on federal highway 248 from Neuekrug to the junction with federal highway 82 was completely closed and repaired. The planned renewal of the remaining cycle path up to the junction with Kreisstraße 69 (Hahausen) is scheduled to take place in spring 2026. This not only improves the traffic situation, but also increases the safety of all road users.

Although the work results in restrictions, the long-term goal of improving the region's infrastructure is beneficial for everyone. The responsible construction manager is optimistic: “We have a good hand in planning the work processes and hope that we can stay within the time frame.” The responsible authorities ask residents and road users for their understanding and patience during the construction work.

Conclusion: Patience is required

The new one-way system and diversions may seem annoying at first, but the improvements they bring cannot be ignored. If everything goes according to plan, the citizens of Neuekrug and the surrounding area will be able to benefit from a more attractive and safer transport network next spring. A little patience is required until all the work is completed - then the effort will be worth it!
