Arena Lüneburger Land is booming: successful events and more!
The Arena Lüneburger Land performed significantly better in event operations than initially expected. This reflects a positive assessment that was also expressed by Franz-Josef Kamp, the head of the SPD district council group. In 2024, 60 events were held in the arena, with occupancy remaining stable at the previous year's level. The SVG volleyball team's 20 home games, which were often sold out, were particularly pleasing. The arena has thus impressively demonstrated its potential.
A look at the key economic data still shows challenges. There was a loss of 137,000 euros in operational business, although an even higher loss of 209,000 euros was planned for in the economic plan for 2024. The district contributed 250,000 euros in cash to cover the deficit. Sales revenue increased slightly to 1,330,000 euros compared to the previous year, with 545,000 euros coming from external services and 365,000 euros from renting out space and equipment.
Diverse range of events
The offering in the arena is as diverse as ever: In addition to the successful volleyball games, there were also two MMA competitions, the North German Hip Hop Championships and the spectacular gymnastics fireworks display. In addition, nine concerts, two comedy events and eleven party events took place. Graduation balls are also an issue, as there is still room for more events.
However, there are still roadworks to be addressed. Some construction and improvement work is planned, in particular to revise the fire protection concept. The increased energy costs have also affected the business, as gas, electricity and water have almost doubled in the past year. These are aspects that need to be addressed in the coming period to ensure the arena's long-term success.
Special events planned
Another highlight that music lovers have in store for next month is the performance by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, which will take place on October 12, 2025 at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. The event promises a musical experience at a high level, because Valli is not only an American music legend, but also an award-winning artist with over 100 million records sold worldwide. His success also includes the Broadway musical “JERSEY BOYS,” which has over 18 million viewers.
Tickets for the concert are available online through Ticketmaster and can also be purchased at the Mirabito Box Office on site. Prices start at 45.50 euros, and there are also special ticket packages that offer a premium experience with exclusive merchandise. The event is suitable for all ages, so entire families can enjoy this musical performance.
