Ice hockey in Salzgitter is getting a breath of fresh air! 24-year-old Richard Seba from the Czech Republic will be part of the Salzgitter Icefighters' offensive line in the future. The powerful striker, who comes from HC Domažlice in the fourth Czech league, not only has an impressive height of 196 cm and over 100 kg, but also valuable experience from German ice hockey. In addition to his time in Domažlice, where he developed into a dangerous offensive player over the last three seasons, he also played in Germany for the Straubing Tigers and Ravensburg Towerstars.
His return to Germany was made possible by a second trial training session in Bad Sachsa after a move failed to materialize two years ago. This time it worked. Coach Radek Vit emphasizes that Seba has enormous physical presence, technical strength as well as a good eye and precise finishing. “With Richard, the Icefighters’ offensive will soon become a real challenge for their opponents,” says Vit optimistically.
Companion and language skills
A particularly interesting aspect of his move is that Richard Seba meets an old acquaintance: Maximilian de Sousa, with whom he played together in his youth days at HC Kobra Praha. This connection could prove valuable as the two players already know each other well and can work together. Richard also has an advantage when it comes to language: he speaks some German, which makes it easier for him to get used to the team and the new environment.
The Icefighters are known for building an ambitious team in their region that is very popular in the ice hockey world. Their player transfers so far show that they have made the right decision: “We have a good knack for selecting our players,” said those responsible for the club.
