Wolfsburg is celebrating a new pub festival and is planning street renovations!
Wolfsburg has a lot to offer in the coming months. In February 2026, the city will be the venue for the new “Wob Tonk” pub festival. More than ten catering establishments have already announced their participation, and the festival will take place twice a year in the future. To purchase a ticket, visitors have to budget around 15 euros. Unfortunately, last year the popular “Honky Tonk” was canceled and no further events are planned for 2026, so “Wob Tonk” could be the only big pub crawl next year. The WAZ reports about the fact that it is time to focus on enjoyment and conviviality in Wolfsburg.
But it's not just the catering industry that has news to report. The city's infrastructure is also on the agenda. Rabenbergstrasse in the Mitte-West district is badly damaged and poses a safety risk for all road users. A major renovation is therefore planned for 2026, which will include a new roadway, barrier-free bus stops and more green spaces. The city council will decide on the project decision on December 10th. The plan is to begin construction work in the first half of 2026. The city of Wolfsburg highlights the importance of such measures for general mobility and safety standards.
Celebrations and social engagement
This weekend the “Jembker Hof Party” in the Musikhof is on the program again. The 44th Olaf Lorenzen festival will take place on November 8th. The previous parties at the “Jembker Hof” are remembered with nostalgia, even if the cult drink Esbecker Kirschwein is not offered this year.
At the same time, IG Metall's 21st Antifa Week starts in Wolfsburg on November 8th under the motto “Week of Democracy”. The program includes commemorative events, readings and film screenings that commemorate the crimes committed during the Nazi era. These important events will take place in Wolfsburg and in the neighboring town of Velpke until November 14th. Wolfsburg Online announces that social commitment receives particular attention here; 25 young people are also being honored for their commitment to the Auschwitz/Birkenau memorial. This not only promotes political education, but also responsibility for our history.
The developments in Wolfsburg are diverse. From cultural highlights to important infrastructure adjustments to a vibrant culture of remembrance - the city shows a good knack for remaining active and appealing. The urban development has a clear vision to drive and shape the dynamic changes. Business, politics, science and administration will pull together to have a positive influence on the future of Wolfsburg.
