On July 6th, 2025 it will be “the curtain up” for the Lübeck Pop Symphonics in Travemünde. The concert in the magnificent ballroom of the Maritim Hotel Travemünde, which begins at 6 p.m., promises to be a feast for the ears, as the band leads the audience through a rousing selection of musicals, film and pop music. The Lübeck Pop Symphonics are not only a musical troupe, but also a pleasant gathering of music enthusiasts from all age groups and various universities in Lübeck. The association, which is run on a voluntary basis, has set itself the goal of bringing people across generations together through music. The orchestra consists of around 90 active members, who are both students and alumni of the University of Lübeck, the Technical University and the University of Music. Under the musical direction of Martin Hermann, listeners can expect an energetic performance, supported by an impressive light show and humorous presentation.
A diverse program for everyone
From the iconic sounds of the “Star Wars” soundtrack to classics by Abba and Pink Floyd – the Lübeck Pop Symphonics program promises to meet every musical taste. In addition, listening pleasures from films such as “The Godfather” are presented. This varied offer not only creates great emotions, but also supports an important cause: part of the income goes to supporting musical education at schools in the district.
Lübeck's cultural scene thrives all year round and offers a variety of events that attract both locals and visitors.
