Christmas magic for swapping: bring your decorations to Waren!
In the festive period before Christmas, the environmental office of the Mecklenburg Lake District is launching a lovingly designed Christmas decoration swap meet in Waren. As NDR reports, the exchange will take place in the premises of the regional location at Zum Amtbrink 2 and will last until Thursday, November 27th, 2025. The idea behind it is simple but ingenious: citizens and citizens can offer used Christmas items free of charge and thus contribute to a sustainable and resource-saving holiday season.
What exactly can be exchanged? We are looking for unused, intact Christmas decorations, although items with a power connection are excluded. The quantity and value of the objects exchanged do not matter - anyone who would like to contribute something is welcome. The exchange was launched last year and has proven to be a complete success, as Nordkurier reports. This means that participants can not only renew their Christmas decorations at home, but also reduce waste.
Opening times and procedures
The swap meet's doors are open from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. No prior registration is required, making access easier for everyone. So if you're looking for a creative break from everyday life, you shouldn't miss a visit.
Sustainability is trending
The idea of sustainability becomes increasingly important during the Christmas season. More and more people are interested in environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional Christmas decorations. As the website Elya Concept shows, there are many creative ways to make decorations from recycled materials. Materials such as old newspapers, fabric scraps and natural materials provide a wonderful basis for DIY projects that are not only environmentally conscious, but also add personal touches.
Whether charming vases are made from old glasses or fir branches are integrated into the decoration - there are no limits to the design. The combination of tradition and innovation not only promotes environmental protection, but also creates a special festive atmosphere.
So if you still have unused Christmas items at home or are simply looking for new, creative ideas for the festive season, now is the perfect opportunity. Visit the Christmas decoration swap meet and bring a breath of fresh air to your Christmas home!
