TSG Burhave: Strong performance with young talents in the derby duel!

The TSG Burhave volleyball men had an eventful home game day in the Burhave sports hall. They were able to achieve a clear 3-1 win in the first game against STV Wilhelmshaven II. Burhaver showed a concentrated team performance and won the first set 25:19. Their powerful serves and stable receiving were crucial to their success. They also had the game under control in the second set and won 25:20.

But not all sets went smoothly: In the third set, Burhave experienced a brief drop in performance and had to admit defeat 18:25. The fourth set, however, became a thriller in which Burhaver demonstrated strong nerves. Despite a narrow lead, they were able to win the game 25:20 and thus secured the final score of 3:1 against STV Wilhelmshaven II. Special mention goes to the two setters Jan-Dirk Dunkhase and Stefan Plewka, who led the team in a structured and focused manner.

However, the second game of the day against the top favorites AT Rodenkirchen turned out to be completely different. The Burhaven team decided to rebuild their squad and give young players valuable playing time. This decision emphasizes Burhave's commitment to promoting young talent. The first set against Rodenkirchen ended clearly with 15:25. The second set was more exciting, Burhave was able to take the lead at times, but had to admit defeat by a narrow margin of 23:25. In the third set, Rodenkirchen showed his class and ended the match 3-0.

AT Rodenkirchen achieved a clear 3-0 win in the game (25:10, 25:23, 25:16), with Burhaven captain Stefan Plewka describing this team as the strongest in the league. Despite the defeat, the TSG coaching team is positive about the young players who were able to gain valuable experience. Burhave is currently in 6th place with 4 points, while Rodenkirchen is top of the table with 13 points.

The positive development of the young players is also strengthened by the current measures of the German Volleyball Association and the Volleyball Bundesliga. Since the introduction of the youth concept in the summer of 2019, the aim has been to promote the recruitment of young talent and to improve the prospects for German professional players and coaches. TSG Burhave is committed to these measures and is committed to integrating its young talents in the best possible way.

For the coming games, Burhave aims to assert itself in the middle of the table and collect more points. The next opponent will be VG Ostfriesland Süd II, while Rodenkirchen will face VSG Ammerland III. The future of Burhaver volleyball looks optimistic, especially due to the focus on developing young talent.

Finally, the coaching team emphasized how important the integration of new players is for the development of the entire squad. It is clear that TSG Burhave will continue to focus on youth sports in the future in order to continue to assert itself in the league.
